She quickly figured out that she could move just by leaning this way or that. She floated down the hallway in the same direction the courier had gone. It felt nothing like flying with wings; that took a great deal of effort, like going for a run. But this… this was pure weightlessness.
She floated up the stairs and onto the roof and just kept rising. The city fell beneath her, spreading in all directions. She glanced down at the card still in her hand, and smiled.
“Merry Christmas to you too, Leigh,” she said, and took off across the sky.
