“Yeah?” Genesis said.

“Well, I’ve never been with someone this long so I don’t know if the timing’s right,” Angela said. “But it feels right, so… uh… what I’m trying to say is… I think we should move in together.”

Genesis was silent for a moment.

“Do you really mean that?” she asked finally.

“Of course,” Angela said. “Why wouldn’t I?”

“It’s just… you know what my bad days are like,” Genesis said. “Are you sure you can handle that full-time? Living with me isn’t going to be easy.”

“If I wanted easy, I would’ve run for the hills ages ago,” Angela said.

“I certainly wouldn’t have blamed you,” Genesis said.

“But it hasn’t happened,” Angela said. “And it’s not going to. I’m right where I’m supposed to be, and I’m not going anywhere.”

“Well… okay then,” Genesis said. “Let’s do this.”

Angela smiled, draped her arm over Genesis’s shoulder, and pulled her close.

“Happy anniversary.”
